The Gothic

The gothic genre genre started in the 18th centuary, it has elements of todays’s horror genre. Mystery and anonymity along with darkness are some of the characteristics of gothic writting and like the modern horror/mystery, creates elements of suspense and fear within the writting.

I dont understand why the gothic genre cant just be called horror, although its slightly different but still ! It would be easier =]  Duhh its slightly different thats why it has a different name ! ! blah blah blah.

I like te fact that there is always something mysterious within the gothic genre, as i think it makes writting in general more exciting to read and dramatic.
